Heather Heyer’s Fundamental Words Must Never Die

Heather Heyer's words and actions, as well as, Malala Yousafzai's, are examples of the ideology needed for positive change.

Ms. Heyer believed profoundly that if you are not angry, you are not paying attention. I repeat, if you are not angry, you are not paying attention. Not that you must pay attention to others, BUT that you are not paying attention to your inner self.

Not paying attention first to the anger inside you, anger just turns into violence. Pay attention to, not being angry toward others, but see the anger to the injustice around you, is essential. We must understand FIRST HOW anger is impacting our inner self.  Most people do not know how to understand their anger properly. That is why many are in a perpetually unhealthy relationships.

We must see and understand how anger is affecting our inner self. The mistake that most of us make is that we try to eliminate anger altogether, like feeling angry is a bad thing. As a pragmatic therapist, I always say that to DEAL with anger we must be O.K. to FEEL angry. By understanding that feeling angry is a good thing, It sends a message to our inner self telling us that we have the empowerment to make a significant difference in our own personal lives and the world around us, as Heather Heyer did and as Malala Yousafzai is doing.

My condolences goes out to family and friends of Ms. Heather Heyer.
