A Child’s Greatest Gift this Christmas, Inspired by Mary Poppins
Becoming a parent does not necessary make you an effective parent. An effective parent questions his/her parenting skills. This is not a sign of weakness, but a sigh of strength. No one had perfect parents and those imperfect parenting traits are carried unto the next generation.
Open your mind and willingness to improve your parenting skills. Learn to be a better parent without guilt and it will become a priceless gift you can give your child this Christmas. This will be a new charter to become or improve on being a more grounded parent.
P.L. Travers’s Mary Poppins wrote, “In order to fly, you need something solid to take off from. It’s not the sky that interests me but the ground.” A solid parent does not need to be a perfect parent, but a consistent parent of giving love, understanding, and moral firmness which will build that runway for your child in order for him/her to thrive in life.
